Data deletion

Last updated:

You can ask us to delete the data Siach holds about you, including WhatsApp conversations with businesses that use Siach and the CRM records created from them. This page explains how to make a request, what we delete, and how long it takes.

This document is published in English and Hebrew. For users in Israel, if the two versions conflict, the Hebrew version prevails.

1. If you messaged a business that uses Siach

Siach answers WhatsApp messages on behalf of businesses. Your conversations belong to the business you messaged, and Siach stores them on its behalf. You can ask for them to be deleted in either of these ways:

  1. Ask the business. Contact the business you messaged and ask it to delete your conversation and customer record. It can do this from its Siach account, or ask us to.
  2. Ask us directly. Email [email protected] with the subject line "Data deletion request" and include:
    • the phone number you use on WhatsApp, in international format (for example +972 50 000 0000);
    • the name of the business or businesses you messaged;
    • optionally, roughly when you messaged them, which helps us find the right conversation.

To protect you, we verify every request before we delete anything. We may ask you to confirm the request from the same WhatsApp number or email address. We will also tell the business concerned that the data was deleted.

2. If you are a business using Siach

  • Account owners can delete individual conversations and lead records in the Siach CRM, or ask us to do it.
  • To delete your whole account and all of its data, the account owner should email [email protected] from the address registered on the account. We recommend exporting your data first. After the account is closed you have 30 days to export it, unless you ask us to delete it immediately.

3. What we delete

  • the messages exchanged with the business, including media and attachments;
  • message metadata, such as timestamps and delivery status;
  • the lead or customer record in the business's CRM, including notes and tags;
  • copies held by our service providers on our behalf.

We keep only what we are required to keep: a minimal record that a deletion request was received and completed, and records that the law obliges us to retain (for example invoices for a business account). These are kept only for as long as the law requires.

4. How long it takes

  • Within 3 business days: we confirm that we received your request, or ask for the details we need to verify it.
  • Within 30 days of verification: the data is deleted from Siach's active systems and we confirm by email.
  • Within a further 60 days: the data is removed from our encrypted backups, which are overwritten on a rolling schedule.

5. Copies outside Siach

Deleting data from Siach does not delete messages stored on your phone, or in the business's own WhatsApp apps or other systems. WhatsApp itself is operated by Meta under the WhatsApp Privacy Policy. To stop a business from messaging you, block it in WhatsApp or ask it to opt you out.

6. More about your rights

Deletion is one of your rights under data protection law. Our Privacy Policy describes the others and how to complain to a data protection authority.
